UI Lead Engineer

Overview

The Data Office team at T. Rowe Price is playing a key role in helping build the firm's next generation platform, working together with business partners to create client experiences that are changing the way people invest. You will be a hands-on engineer leading a new engineering team in the Analytics and Data Platform group, responsible for architecting and building out brand new data management tools to support our business and operational users.

You will be responsible for:

  • Leading a team of multi-disciplinary engineers
  • Practicing and enforcing disciplined software engineering (e.g. automated testing, code reviews, and writing beautiful, pragmatic code)
  • Coding in JavaScript (React, Redux, NodeJS, Webpack) and mentoring other engineers in the team
  • Building out a brand new data management tool to support our business and operational users, working closely with the rest of the Data and Analytics platform
  • Helping create wireframes, designing features and UIs, crafting a great user experience
  • Unit testing, integration testing. Contributing to maintaining and constantly improving the CI/CD pipeline
  • Code reviews, design reviews
  • Code instrumentation, setting up proactive monitoring dashboards
  • Liaising with users and subject matter experts in order to gather requirements, analyse solutions and triage feedback and incidents
  • Understanding business requirements and translating them into technical requirements

Required skills and expertise:

  • 12+ years experience leading strong agile teams with a proven track-record of delivering high-quality innovative front-end software
  • Expert JavaScript programming
  • Experience with TypeScript
  • Extensive professional experience with React, Redux, NodeJS, Webpack
  • Familiarity with AWS
  • Experience using Material UI design system
  • An understanding of the asset management business and/or financial markets

Preferred experience/skills

  • Experience implementing services in Node
  • Experience buildings micro frontends
  • Experience with ag-Grid
  • Experience with Java and/or Python
  • Experience with redux-saga is a bonus
