About the role

An exciting opportunity has opened up as a Trainee Operations Data Analyst in our Belfast Office. In the role, the successful candidate will:

  • Responsible for researching, consolidating, analysing and interpreting data related to both the client base and the wider business environment. This will incorporate report design, insights delivery, statistical analysis and the development of data visualisations.
  • Use Power BI or similar reporting tools to create automated and ad-hoc reports for use by the organization including marketing performance reports, operational overviews and regulatory reporting.
  • Use analytic methodologies and data mining techniques to support identification and investigation into market clustering, segmentation & trends
  • Proactively monitor, audit and report on processes and procedures to identify areas of potential risk, ensure compliance with service level expectations and identify opportunities for improvements to service delivery.
  • Fulfil the MI and reporting requirements of the UK business, as required.
  • Act as a Data Steward by identifying and relaying data anomalies and data quality issues to relevant teams in order to enhance data integrity and improve organisational data standards.

Requirements

About you

We are looking for somebody who has the following background and skills:

  • Bachelor's degree in Economics/ Finance/Data Science/Computer Science or equivalent 3rd Level Education
  • Experience working in a Finance role, reporting and insights experience beneficial
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills required to import data sets, run analyses, and display results using charts, graphs and other visually friendly formats.
  • Strong data analysis skills, ability to mine data and analyse trends relevant to business requirements
  • Experience with research projects advantageous
  • An interest in pursuing a career in data and analytics
  • Strong working knowledge/Experience of MS Excel essential
  • Knowledge of SQL, Microsoft Power BI desirable
  • Financial Services experience desirable
  • Excellent written and communication skills
  • Knowledge of business areas with process knowledge and expertise.
  • The individual should enjoy working in a fast paced, dynamic and results orientated team environment
