The Role

The LiveScore Data Team is a cross-functional and diverse team of analysts, engineers, developers and data scientists that supports all aspects of the LiveScore business by implementing data driven solutions. We do this using a tech stack based on, but not limited to, Google Cloud Platform. We are committed to leveraging cutting-edge technologies to enhance our products and services, and we are looking for a talented Senior Data Engineer to join our team.

The position comes with a high level of responsibility and would suit a candidate who enjoys making a difference through meaningful development and insight across operational, marketing and customer experience, all with the goal of bringing our audiences closer than ever to the sports they love with our best-in-class products. The candidate should have a strong background in marketing technology stacks, experience working with Segment CDP, and familiarity with MarTech and AdTech platforms. The ideal candidate will excel in requirements elicitation, have a good product sense, and possess a solid understanding of customer data, its strategic implications, and how to leverage it for marketing and insights.

Key Responsibilities

  • Proficient in querying data sets using SQL and building and maintaining data pipelines.
  • Commercial experience in building an understanding of all aspects of customer data through Python (loyalty, behaviour, acquisition, and retention).
  • Work with customer-centric data to generate insights for the business, understanding all end-to-end customer journeys, and providing strategic recommendations.
  • Create and develop KPI management dashboards to analyse performance and identify behavioural insights across GEOs, platforms, sports, and content.
  • Provide actionable insights to advertising & marketing team colleagues and client partners to influence the evolution of customer and marketing activity.
  • Develop data architecture solutions to enable/leverage customer 'signature' tables (single customer view).
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to elicit requirements and ensure data solutions meet business needs.
  • Leverage experience with Segment CDP and other MarTech/AdTech platforms to integrate and optimize marketing technology stacks.

Skills, Knowledge and Experience

  • Proven STEM experience within a commercial environment or a degree.
  • Fluency in one or more of the following languages: SQL, Python, JavaScript
  • Strong in 1 or more cloud technologies - AWS, Azure, GCP.
  • Experience with real time data streaming using kafka/pubsub etc.
  • Experience developing cloud infrastructure, uptime monitoring, through alerts and dashboards would be beneficial.
  • Experience streamlining/adapting policies and/or procedures to ensure the quality of the development process.
  • Writing SQL including stored procedures in languages such as T-SQL. PL/PgSQL and PL/SQL
  • Data quality/validation experience: designing metrics and KPIs in order to verify our releases are of the highest standard.
  • Knowledge of marketing, advertising, and technical tools available such as DSP, DMPs, Web Analytics, CDPs, CRM platforms, Visualization Tools, etc.
  • Experience working with Segment CDP and other MarTech/AdTech platforms.
  • An understanding of data protection regulations and issues.
  • Experience in eliciting requirements and translating them into actionable data solutions.
