The Opportunity

Primary Objectives:

  • Supporting the global NB&ER Teams with analysis, development of risk reporting and process improvements. This includes enhancing internal reporting capabilities and ensuring NB&ER can efficiently respond to external requests from regulators across the network.

Primary Responsibilities:

The Risk Systems Data Analyst will produce key client and matter data and analysis to help the senior NB&ER management team to both manage the business and to meet the increasing regulatory reporting requirements globally.

Key responsibilities

  • Working closely with the NB&ER management team to:
  • Understand the New Business function and the risks involved around taking on new clients and matters through our data.
  • Produce analysis and key insights to help manage the new business risk in the global business.
  • Production of compliance and regulatory reports required by both internal and external clients and regulatory bodies.
  • Maintain and create new dashboards to track metrics and visualise insights.
  • Building and maintaining a suite of reports (Excel/SQL/PowerBI) for use in regular weekly and monthly reporting.
  • Working closely with the Financial Crime Team to help with the reports required to manage the new client workflow and compliance with internal targets for client identification.
  • Further enhance the current approach to data integrity and assist with ongoing manual data cleansing where required.
  • Work with relevant teams to agree any changes to procedures to ensure data is maintained correctly going forwards and agree Data Entry Standards.
  • Provide analytical support for new business initiatives.
  • Help to identify process efficiencies through analytics.
  • Supporting annual reviews of third-party software to assess suppliers who can enhance the processes delivered by the NB&ER teams and ensure they are still fit for purpose.
  • Assist in the continuous review of new technologies that could improve the efficiency of processes across NB&ER, with a focus on Generative AI.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

  • Ideally educated to degree level in Mathematics/ Statistics/ Computer Sciences or similar.
  • Data Analysis Experience:
  • At least 1-2 years previous data analysis experience ideally within a law firm.

Technical Skills:

  • Expert user of Excel with experience of building and using own sophisticated spreadsheets with pivot tables and macros.
  • A good working knowledge of all other Microsoft packages (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook) is essential for the role.
  • Ideally knowledge of SQL and Power BI.

Other Skills:

  • Good commercial awareness.
  • Ability to prioritise workload.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to work autonomously and prioritise multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Excellent verbal, written and face to face communication skills.
  • Ability to work well under pressure and to deadlines.
