Job Description

We are looking for innovative minds ready to drive data excellence.

At Cricut, our Business Analytics Team is seeking a Junior Data Engineer who thrives in a collaborative environment, working closely with executives and cross-functional teams to understand data needs and develop comprehensive reporting frameworks.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with business stakeholders and various teams to understand data collection needs, ensuring accurate and efficient data capture.

  • Design and implement end-to-end reporting structures that align with business objectives.

  • Maintain and optimize the data warehouse, addressing backlogs and standardizing processes to minimize redundancy.

  • Develop and implement automation processes to enhance data management efficiency.

  • Serve as the data engineering representative for the UK and other international locations, working closely with the U.S.-based manager.

  • Ensure effective communication and collaboration with key stakeholders, focusing on understanding and meeting their data needs.

  • Willingness to travel to the United States at least twice a year to collaborate with the U.S. team.

Qualifications
  • Experience: 3-5 years in data engineering or a related field.

  • Technical Skills: Strong SQL experience, with a proven ability to design and optimize complex queries. Experience with ETL/ELT tools, Matillion is a plus. Python and API connection skills. Some database management experience, ensuring correct table structure (unique primary keys, distribution styles, etc.), data quality monitoring

  • Stakeholder Interaction: Experience working closely with key business stakeholders to gather requirements and deliver data-driven solutions.

  • Analytical & Communication Skills: Strong analytical thinking with excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.

  • Organizational Skills: Highly organized, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and tasks effectively.

  • Soft Skills: A self-starter with the ability to operate independently after training, demonstrating accountability and initiative.

  • Growth Mindset: Eagerness to grow within the role, with opportunities for professional development.

  • Problem Solving: Apply creative problem-solving to projects by thinking outside the box and developing innovative solutions to overcome challenges.
