Endava's IT organization is embarking on a significant transformation programme aimed at adopting agile methodologies, addressing technical debt, and advancing the maturity of its people, processes, and technologies to support future business growth.

This initiative presents an opportunity akin to a startup within Enterprise Data Architecture, allowing us to establish a brand-new internal enterprise data capability. The goal is to:

• Develop a tailored and compelling technological response aligned with the company's strategic objectives.
• Cultivate partnerships to effectively execute the enterprise architecture strategy across the entire organization.

As an Enterprise Data Architect at Endava, you'll play a pivotal role in creating and managing our organizational data architecture from the ground up. This isn't just a job - it's an opportunity to pioneer a brand-new internal enterprise data capability, akin to building a startup within a thriving enterprise environment.

Responsibilities:

Overall, the role involves driving technology optimization across our global business. There will be regular M&A as well as organic expansion of the company and its capabilities. The three primary areas of responsibility are data modelling & design, data governance & management, and the assurance of data integration & associated infrastructure.

• Design and implement a cutting-edge data model for our internal Enterprise Data Integration platform.
• Craft strategic plans to enhance data integration, quality, and delivery in alignment with business objectives.
• Lead the design and layout of data systems, including databases, warehouses, and lakes.
• Select and implement database management systems, ensuring data security and accessibility.
• Drive long-term technology strategy and innovation across analytics, data engineering, and platforms.
• Simplify existing data architecture for improved efficiency and cost savings.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand data consumer needs and develop innovative solutions.

Qualifications

Preferred Skills:

• Ability to think strategically and relate architectural decisions and recommendations to business needs and client culture.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Ability to guide solution design and enterprise architecture to meet business needs as part of a wider data strategy that you will shape and evangelise.
• Ability to synthesise and clearly communicate large volumes of complex information to senior management of various technical understandings.
• Ability to collaborate and excel in complex, cross-functional teams involving data scientists, product managers, and stakeholders.
• Ability to assess traditional and modern data architecture components based on business needs.
• Proficiency in the design and implementation of modern data architectures and concepts such as cloud services (AWS, Azure, GCP), real-time data distribution (Kafka, Dataflow), and modern data warehouse tools (Snowflake, Databricks).
• Experience and expertise with both relational and non-relational database technologies that leverage different purposes across the data management lifecycle.
• Expertise in effective data modelling to achieve a common vocabulary and data governance.
• Experience with business intelligence tools and technologies such as ETL, Power BI, and Tableau.
• Exposure to and experience of machine learning and generative AI implementations at an enterprise level, including AI governance and strategy.
