Databricks Architect (Contract) (BJ-14278)

A 3 months + contract role for a Databricks architect has opened up with one of our customers, they provide a platform for testing medical devices. The project is to help them kick off and design their new Databricks installation. This project requires deep knowledge of Databricks and how it can be best applied effectively when going from initial implementation all the way through to production.

Requirements

• Strong (& proven) experience in Databricks
• Experience in optimising data platforms to help accelerate and achieve strategic business goals while balancing and managing costs.

With a solid and deep understanding of:

• Data platform architecture and different use cases and topologies
• Standard technologies which can be used for target use cases (ingestion, orchestration, compute, etc.)
• Ability to help define High-level standardised processes for all parts of the data lifecycle (from acquisition and storage all the way through to reporting and compute/analytics)
• An understanding of data platforms and how they can be used to leverage the data available and how/whether that data can either be incorporated into the platform or
• AWS
• DataBricks
• Kafka
• DBT (but exposure to other ELT or ETL systems is a definite plus)
• Relational databases (mostly RDS on AWS)
• Familiarity with Python
