Job Summary:

Reporting to the Director, Data Science/AI, the Data Analyst, Data Science will lead the advancement of marketing and operational processes through data-driven solutions. Utilizing traditional statistics and modern machine learning approaches, the Data Analyst, Data Science will be at the forefront of answering business questions by harnessing the power of data.

As a trusted strategic thought partner, the Data Analyst, Data Science will align with multiple teams such as business planning, strategy, media/marketing, user/market research, sales, and data engineering to craft innovative data solutions that effectively influence business decisions. Whether developing a simulation model to improve forecasting accuracy or evaluating pricing strategies to maximize revenue or developing a predictive model to guide game development decisions, as just some example projects, the Data Analyst will be focused on optimization and will work to devise a variety of data products in a dynamic research environment.

The successful candidate will be able to seamlessly communicate across technical and non-technical audiences, comfortable with sharing risks as well as rewards, and passionate about identifying new opportunities for data science applications and projects.

Requirements

Key Deliverables:
  • Partner with business teams to understand key business questions and expected outputs in order to define and build innovative data science products
  • Analyse complex data sets and use multiple traditional as well as advanced analytics methods to understand trends, patterns, correlations and derive meaningful insights.
  • Develop statistical models to inform marketing, pricing, promotional activities
  • Fetch data from various sources both inside and outside the company and work with data engineering on data retrieval
  • Compile, process, re-structure, and validate clean data for analytics work
  • Propose new solutions; support development of experiments and interpret results to test hypotheses and drive data-driven decision-making.
  • Maintain a constant improvement mentality: consistently monitor output and solutions performance; strive for continuous growth, optimization, and incremental improvement
  • Support creation of a centralized repository of knowledge: ensure accurate documentation of data usage, version, test and event results and develop use case library.
  • Stay up to date on industry trends and advancements in data science techniques, AI/Generative AI, and relevant technologies.
  • Execute ad-hoc data requests and prepare data for analyses by writing code and queries, as well as reporting results of analyses and sharing data.

Knowledge & Experience:

Essential:

  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to work with large datasets
  • Experience with data visualization tools like Tableau, Power BI, or similar
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex data insights to non-technical stakeholders
  • Strong business instinct with existing or growing ability to understand business process and objectives and propose data solutions to achieve goals
  • Comfort with collaborating with cross-functional teams and stakeholders at all levels
  • Attention to detail and a strong problem-solving mindset
  • Flexible and adept at handling multiple tasks while managing priorities and team expectations as needed
  • Proactive with a strong sense of ownership and able to work independently and collaboratively to deliver robust solutions in a fast-paced environment
  • Deep understanding/interest in gaming and entertainment industry and its dynamics

Desirable:

  • Masters in Statistics, Applied Mathematics, Economics, or related field
  • Experience with marketing mix modelling or similar techniques desirable
Competencies, Skills & Attributes:

Essential:

  • Intermediate programming languages such as Python, R, or SQL
  • Familiarity with statistical tools and software (e.g., R, SAS).
  • Familiarity with machine learning, natural language processing (NLP), and advanced analytics techniques
  • Proficiency in advanced statistical methods and traditional analysis techniques (e.g., linear/logistic regression, Principal Component Analysis, Statistical testing, other Machine Learning methodologies

We have a hybrid working policy which allows employees to work from the comfort of their home, three days per week, and in our amazing Blackfriars office for the other two.
